Easy Chicken Tikka Masala

– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 onion, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
– 2 teaspoons garam masala
– 1 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1 teaspoon ground coriander
– 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
– 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
– 1 cup plain yogurt
– 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
– 1/2 cup heavy cream
– Salt and pepper to taste


1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and cayenne pepper and cook for 1 minute.
4. Add the tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
5. Add the yogurt and stir to combine.
6. Add the chicken and cook until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes.
7. Add the cream and stir to combine.
8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
9. Serve over basmati rice.
