Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the flour, salt, butter, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and beat in the eggs, one at a time, until the mixture is smooth. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the butter.
  6. Transfer the custard to a bowl and let cool. Once cooled, spoon the custard into the cream puffs.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
