This recipe for Easy Flour Tortillas is a great way to make delicious, homemade tortillas with only 5 ingredients! The tortillas are soft and pliable, and perfect for tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and more.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup warm water
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the vegetable oil and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- Using a rolling pin, roll each ball of dough into a thin circle, about 8 inches in diameter.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place one of the tortillas in the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, until lightly browned. Flip the tortilla and cook for another minute, until lightly browned.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas.
