Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Drain off any excess fat and transfer the beef mixture to a 6-quart slow cooker.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, black beans, corn, green chiles, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  4. Pour the chicken broth over the top and stir again.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Stir in the sour cream, cheddar cheese, cilantro, green onions, olives, avocado, and jalapeno peppers.
  7. Cover and cook on low for an additional 15 minutes.
