Crispy Chilli Beef

This Crispy Chilli Beef is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is sure to please the whole family. It is a great way to use up leftover beef and is packed with flavour. The beef is cooked in a spicy chilli sauce and served with a side of steamed rice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. beef, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the ginger, cumin, chilli powder, paprika, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add the beef broth, soy sauce, tomato paste, honey, and rice vinegar and bring to a boil.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve over steamed rice.
